Your day will commence with the visit of Jama Masjid, is one of the largest mosques in India. Built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan, the mosque represents the pinnacle of Mughal architecture. Later, explore the streets of colorful and bustling Chandni Chowk on a rickshaw (being Sunday, some of the shops remain closed), Known for its historical significance, host of shops, chaos, and delicious local food, Chandni Chowk is counted among the most ancient marketplaces in Old Delhi. Established back in the seventeenth century by the Indian Mughal ruler, Shah Jahan and drive past to Red Fort, once the heart of the mighty Mughal Empire and later the only extent of their greatly diminished power, is a fascinating monument that tells tales that represent both glory and the gory. Your sightseeing of Old Delhi will wrap-up with the visit of Raj Ghat– where father of the nation was cremated.

Discover the Lutyen’s Delhi or New Delhi, which reflects the legacy the British left behind. New Delhi in contrast, is a city trying to live up to the best of 21st century standards. The tour to Lutyens Delhi will include a drive past the impressive India Gate, the Parliament House and the Rashtrapati Bhawan – the official residence of President of India. Further proceed to visit Humayun’s Tomb, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is an excellent example of Persian and Indian architecture. The tomb is made with red sandstone along with use of white and black marble. End the tour with a visit to yet another UNESCO site – Qutub Minar, the tallest minaret in India. A classic example of Indo-Islamic architecture, the foundation of the minaret was laid by Qutb-ud-din-Aibak in 1192. It was built to celebrate the victory of Mohammed Ghori over Rajput king Prithviraj Chauhan.
