UK TO BRUGES, BELGIUM
Once on the continent we cross into Belgium where we stop in Bruges. If you set out to design a
fairy-tale medieval town, it would be hard to improve on central Bruges.
DAY 2
EMBARK ON EMERALD DESTINY
We pass through Antwerp, without a doubt, this charming city is the country’s capital of cool.
We continue to Amsterdam where you will board Emerald Destiny.
DAY 3
AMSTERDAM, HOLLAND
This morning board a glass top canal boat and explore Amsterdam’s maze of canals and then take
a city tour of Amsterdam. After lunch on board, depart on your first day sailing.
DAY 4
COLOGNE, GERMANY
Enjoy free time on board your ship before arriving into Cologne. Founded by the Romans, and one of
Germany’s oldest cities, Cologne is famous for its magnificent World Heritage listed Gothic Cathedral.
DAY 5
CRUISING THE RHINE
Today we cruise through the spectacular Rhine Gorge. Keep your camera at the ready as around
every bend there are stunning vistas of castles perched above steep vine–covered slopes.
DAY 6
MILTENBERG, BAVARIA
Welcome to Miltenberg, a picturesque village on the Main River, which creates an imitable feeling
of Bavarian life in medieval times due to the Old Town being lined with half-timbered buildings.
DAY 7
WÜRZBURG, GERMANY
Known as the “Pearl of the Romantic Road”, Würzburg is surrounded by sloping hills covered with
vineyards. Visit the Bishops’ Residenz, one of Germany’s largest and most ornate baroque palaces.
DAY 8
BAMBERG, GERMANY
Relax on board this morning as we cruise through the Main–Danube Canal, to Bamberg. Feel the
magic of the past as you explore this UNESCO World Heritage city with your guide.
DAY 9
DISEMBARK. HEIDELBERG, GERMANY
Another short journey and we will be in Heidelberg, which sits with the Rhine Valley to the north.
Heidelberg was rebuilt in the 18
th
century with baroque buildings and its historic Gothic streets.
DAY 10
LILLE, FRANCE
We then continue on to Lille, possibly France’s most underrated major city. In recent decades this
once-grimy industrial metropolis has transformed itself into a glittering and self-confident cultural hub.
DAY 11
LILLE TO THE UK
After breakfast we will visit Tyne Cot Cemetery, the largest cemetery for Commonwealth Forces in
the world before heading to Dunkirk for the late afternoon ferry to Dover.

DAY 1
UK TO YPRES, BELGIUM
An early start this morning as we head for Dover for a lunchtime ferry to France. Once on the
continent we cross into Belgium where we stop at the Flemish town of Ypres.
DAY 2
LUXEMBOURG
Depart after breakfast and travel via the motorways through Belgium to Luxembourg where we
make a stop around lunchtime. The Old City of Luxembourg is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
DAY 3
LUCERNE, SWITZERLAND
Shortly after leaving our hotel this morning we enter Switzerland, where we are greeted by a
landscape that unfolds to show us beautiful green hills and crystal clear lakes.
DAY 4
FLORENCE, ITALY
Florence, the capital of Tuscany. Known as the Cradle of Renaissance it is noted for its culture,
architecture and monuments. The best known is the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.
DAY 5
EMBARK ON QUEEN ELIZABETH
Today we will have a free morning in Rome before we transfer to the port of Civitavecchia for
embarkation of Queen Victoria. See a little more of the town before boarding with a free shuttle service.
DAY 6
LEISURE AT SEA
There is plenty of time today to acquaint yourself with Queen Victoria whilst spending a day at sea.
Perhaps you’re still finding your bearings or have already picked out a favourite spot.
DAY 7
BARCELONA, SPAIN
Your first port of call is Barcelonawith its grandboulevards and exquisite architecture. TheCatalonia capital
provides a vividmix of ancient andmodern including Europe’s most extraordinary unfinished cathedral.
DAY 8
LEISURE AT SEA
There is plenty of time today to acquaint yourself with Queen Victoria whilst spending a day at sea.
There’s lots going on for you to join in with or you can perfect the art of doing absolutely nothing
DAY 9
AJACCIO, FRANCE
Ajaccio offers the chance to retrace the renowned footsteps of Napoleon Bonaparte. Visiting the house
where he was born, you can ponder what made him one of Europe’s most feared and notorious leaders.
DAY 10
MONTE CARLO, MONACO
The ever glamorous Monte Carlo, playground of the rich and famous. The harbour is full of
mega-yachts that look like they are moored permanently at the world’s most fashionable address.
DAY 11
LA SPEZIA, ITALY
Tucked into the Ligurian coastline between Genoa and Pisa, is the pretty town of La Spezia – one of
Italy’s most important military and commercial harbours.
DAY 12
DISEMBARK. PISA ITALY
After disembarkation this morning we make our way north to Pisa, the setting for the famous
Leaning Tower and splendid Cathedral in the Field of Miracles.
DAY 13
LYON FRANCE
We leave the hotel after breakfast and travel through The Alps via the Frejus Tunnel to Annecy.
Situated on the shores of a mountain-fringed lake it is studded with geranium-bedecked houses.
DAY 14
DIJON, FRANCE
After breakfast we head to Dijon. It was largely spared during the Franco-Prussian War and the
Second World War, despite the city being occupied.
DAY 15
DIJON TO THE UK
After breakfast we return to Dunkirk for our late afternoon sailing to Dover. On clearing the port
we start to say our goodbyes as we return north.
